Come out to OUTSPORT TORONTO's annual Town Hall meeting and let us know what you think! This meeting is open to all nominees, member-organisation board / collective / executive / steering committee members, and everyone with an interest in OUTSPORT TORONTO.Â
The purpose of the town hall meeting is to solicit feedback from our member organisations, in order to help us set and define our 2013 priorities. 2013 is shaping up to be a very busy year, full of exciting opportunities, so it is critical we understand your priorities.
A full agenda will be released within a week of the town hall meeting, but here in advance is a list of discussion topics. Please consider these topics ahead of time, to make for a most productive conversation.
1. Pride 2013. This is right around the corner. OUTSPORT TORONTO is already putting together a working plan for Pride, and would like to check in with you for your feedback as we develop the programming.
2. Women in Sport. Starting with the Women’s Booth at Pride 2012, and continuing with our workshop at Scrum 2012, OUTSPORT TORONTO has made it a priority to better integrate women into the LGBT-Sport community. OUTSPORT TORONTO would like use the town hall as an opportunity to touch base on the progress your organisation is seeing on this front.
3. Multi-sport games. Antwerp 2013 (World Out Games) and Cleveland/Akron 2014 (Gay Games). Part of OUTSPORT TORONTO's mandate is help coordinate Toronto contingencies at multi-sport games such as these. Ahead of the town hall, please reach out to your members to understand the level of interest in participation, and what sort of coordination is required.
4. Insurance. OUTSPORT TORONTO would like to organise an information session with an insurance professional, to help answer any questions our members may have on this most important topic. We are seeking your feedback on format, content, and timing.
5. Scrum 2013. The date is set (November 22nd & 23rd), and it is not too soon get your feedback on potential format and content.
6. Awards. A new idea, currently in the development stage. The idea is an awards night to honour the individuals and organisations making contributions to the LGBT-sport community. We would like to have some exploratory conversations at the town hall.
