LGBT Giving Network Presents: Nonprofit-Corporate Relationships in LGBT Communities

When
Mon, 28 Feb 2011, 6:00pm–7:30pm

The issue of developing strong partnerships with corporations continues to gain attention as a way to help increase a nonprofits ability to develop new networks, attract funding, engage a broad base of employees in its cause and enhance the working practices of its Board of Directors.  The question remains:  Where do I start? If you are a staff person or a volunteer with a nonprofit interested in building stronger relationships with the corporate sector or if you work in the corporate sector and have an interest in supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) communities, this session is for you!

The LGBT Giving Network is bringing together a panel of experts in corporate-community relations to examine several questions and to explore new strategies for LGBT nonprofits to engage in dialogue:

  • How can corporate volunteers make a difference in LGBT communities?
  • Going beyond financial relationships - how can nonprofits leverage corporate relationships for more than just dollars and cents?
  • What are good practices for nonprofits building relationships with corporations?
  • How do nonprofits establish guidelines for working with corporations?  How do they assess a corporation’s ‘LGBT friendliness’
